Tidbits from the blog world

Thursday, April 2, 2009

  • Yesterday I discovered the Crazy Sexy Life blog (thanks to Oh She Glows) I'll call it kismet to have found this blog - not only is Kris Carr an amazing, inspiring woman (and I'm looking forward to reading her blog each day) but on March 31 she featured a guest post from Lauren, who has Crohn's. Lauren has gotten her CD in check with a high-raw vegan diet. It's really interesting to connect with other people who have Crohn's and see how they are managing their CD with diet. It gives me a lot of hope that I'm heading in the right direction
  • I also came across Coco.nut Your Average Girl after she commented on my blog. She has Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis, another autoimmune disease and has a ton of food restrictions. She's an beautiful woman and it's been great to connect with her and talk about loving food, even when it doesn't love you back.
  • Chocolate Covered Katie is at it again with another super fun giveaway! She's giving away a box of some of her favourite things. Check it out!
  • Speaking of giveaways, have you entered mine? 6 more days to enter. There are four ways to win, so get to it!
  • Jenna of Eat, Live, Run is participating in the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco in October 2009 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. As part of her fundraising efforts she's put together a blogger dessert cookbook with 85 pages of desserts from some wonderfully talented bloggers. For a donation of $10 the cookbook can be yours. Make the donation and then email Jenna at HelpJennaRun@gmail.com to let her know you've made a donation. I'm looking forward to getting my copy very soon!
  • And on the subject of fundraising... you may have noticed that I added my fundraising page on the Crohn's sidebar. In June I will be taking part in Toronto's Heel & Wheel a Thon to raise money for Crohn's & Colitis research. I just got my page up and I'll be updating it very soon, but I'm hoping to raise some money and I'm really looking forward to participating in this walk. You'll be hearing more about this as we get closer!
