I’ll be checking in early next week with details on my experience with the Crazy Sexy Diet and getting back to my normal routine. For now check out this guest post from my favourite gals at FIT CHICKS.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. But a day devoted to chocolates and candy shouldn’t leave you panicked and scared of sabotaging your weight loss efforts. You can still indulge in some fabulous little treats, and feel sexy and stunning this February 14th.
Here are our top five fave “Chick Approved” Valentine’s Day healthy indulgences:
1. Dark Chocolate Dip
Melt 1oz of dark chocolate and enjoy dipping and savouring a cup of fresh strawberries. This indulgent snack weighs in at a mere 200 calories, and gets in a serving of fruit!
2. Chocolate Tea
There are a whole range of chocolate teas on the market that are calorie-free. Grab anything from mint chocolate, chocolate strawberry and chocolate chai. Treat yourself to an exotic loose-leaf tea from a local tea store. And since it’s calorie free, you can have a little something on the side!
3. Chocolate Raspberry Oats
Make your Valentine’s breakfast fun and healthy! Grab 1 cup of cooked oats and add the following: 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 1 tbsp of dark cocoa, 1 cup of raspberries, and 1 tbsp of dark chocolate chips. With 365 calories and a whopping 13 grams of healthy fibre, it’s a delish, healthy and filling way to start your day!
4. Chocolate Covered Cherry Smoothie
This smoothie makes a great brekkie or snack for Chicks on the run. At under 300 calories and with 8 grams of fibre, it gets in your fruit and veggies and satisfies that sweet tooth! Blend together 1 cup of frozen cherries, 1 cup spinach, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 tbsp cocoa, 2 dates and as much water as you need for desired consistency.
5. Hugs and Kisses!
Lots of hugs and kisses with your loved ones are great calorie-free treats - but a girl needs her choccie fix sometimes too! Hershey hugs and kisses are great! And with only about 22 calories a kiss, you can have a few and not break your diet!
Are you planning any special Valentine’s Day treats? How are you sticking with your plan for V-Day? (If you’re a Weight Watchers meetings member, there is an interesting recipe for chocolate cake that includes sauerkraut in this week’s Weekly)
