This morning we are on our way back “down south” to Toronto. It’s a 7+ hour drive and our driving conditions are looking pretty cruddy so it might be even longer than that. Sigh. I’ve got snacks and goodies all ready to go in my beautiful new Lululemon bag (Thanks grandma!!) Water, fruit salad, fruit to go, honeycrisp apple, dark chocolate and a hummus-avocado-cucumber-spinach sandwich on the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had. Depending on how I’m feeling and where we stop, I may grab a salad, tea and/or juice during the ride home.
I’ve eaten some pretty simple (yet delicious) meals since I’ve been up here, so I guess my food packing/grocery store adventure scheme worked after all. Kept it simple with fruits and veggies, whole grains and yummy proteins & fats. Happy to say that I don’t feel gross or bloated (like
Joey some people do after the holidays), making it a successful holiday in my opinion. I had a few splurges including some sweet potato fries, baked chips, dark chocolate and soy nog which fit quite nicely into my overall plan. Everything in moderation!!
